Chris made the right call. He is a great director and aba has always put on a great event. We as anglers in Texas have alot of choices when it comes to tournaments. This series is by far my favorite. I look forward to these events months in advance. Keep up the good work Chris. Thank you for what you do. Matt Helsley

The co-angler rule violation was explained very well.
Is the rule/rule section number that the boater violated a secret?

Most tournament trails prohibit any angler from competing that has ever been disqualified from a tournament and/or failed a polygraph. I am not implying that this was the case with the angler in question. As a tournament director I will prohibit any angler that has ever been disqualified for any action that could be considered cheating and/or action substantiated to give an unfair advantage.

So if you have ever been DQ'd from a tourney you can't fish the ROS or does it have to do with the nature of the previous infraction? I guessing what I'm asking is did this guy have some sort of tournement ban on him?

Ryan was charge with cheating in a tournament (don't know if he was convicted) some years ago of the same offense Robby Rose was convicted of.

That doesn't make any sense, if you google Ryan Lovelace fishing he has been fishing FLW, BASS, Texas Team Trail and numerous other events. I don't see them letting him fish if he was found guilty of anything. I be careful about saying someone was found guilty if you don't really know. If it's true it be on public record somewhere.

HE WAS CAUGHT IN AN ANGLER'S CHOICE PRO AM ON TEXOMA. THE DEAD FISH HE WEIGHED IN CAME FROM RAY ROBERTS. THEY TOOK THE FISH AND TESTED IT. THE QUESTION CAME UP BC HE HAD BEEN SEEN NIGHT FISHING RIGHT BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT AND THE FISH HE CAUGHT HAD BEEN TIED UP BEHIND A DOCK WHERE ONLY HE COULD GET TO IT AND HIS COANGLER COULDNT SEE. APPERENTLY THE JUDGE IN THE CASE PASSED AWAY BEFORE IT WAS PROSECUTED BC HE HAD BEEN IN TROUBLE FOR ANOTHER CASE AND WAS VISITING A STATE FACILITY FOR AWHILE. SO THE CASE WAS EVENTUALLY DROPPED. HE USED TO CARRY A LETTER SAYING THAT HE WASNT PROSECUTED FOR CHEATING IN A BASS TOURNAMENT TO SHOW THE DIRECTORS BC MYSELF AND SEVERAL OTHERS PROTESTED HIM AT EVERY EVENT HE SHOWED UP TO. FLW SAID THAT THEY COULDNT STOP HIM BC OF THE LETTER. SO TAKE IT FOR WHAT U WANT BUT I FISHED SEVERAL OF THE EVENTS THAT WERE IN QUESTION AND HE ALWAYS WEIGHED IN BIG BASS AND THEY WERE ALWAYS DEAD. AND I WILL CONTINUE TO PROTEST HIM ANYTIME I SEE HIM IN A TOURNAMENT!

If the guy was not eligible to fish why would he have been allowed to enter? Its not like everyone doesn't know who that guy is.

I also dont believe the angler in question had ever been convicted of anything. If memory serves me correctly from the threads in previous years on here, when caught the FLW TD gave a choice, withdraw or be disqualified. I know some of yall remember the mysterious story about the co angler, sunglasses in the truck, and magical 5 lb fish. I dont know that I'd group the poor fella in with Robby Rose... thats brutal. LOL.

I just pulled his record up there is nothing on his record for anything other than traffic tickets and things like that. Also looks like he has pretty much competed in FLW and other events every year for a long time. FLW has him listed http://www.flwfishing.com/anglers/ryan-lovelace-196358

I've heard his name at Texas Team Trail cashing checks from time to time.

LIKE I SAID HE WAS CAUGHT WITHOUT A DOUBT IN THE ANGLERS CHOICE PRO AM. TECHNICALITIES ASIDE OR THE PASSING OF A JUDGE A CHEATER IS A CHEATER!!! I FISHED THE FLW TOUR FOR 5 YRS AND WAS THERE WHEN TONY CHRISTIAN GOT CAUGHT! THEY ALLOWED HIM TO BOW OUT ANJD DISSAPPEAR AFTER BEING TAKEN BY THE SHERIFFS DEPT WHEN HE LEFT THE STAGE. THEY DIDNT WANT THE BAD PRESS THAT WOULD COME WITH IT!! I TOTALLY DISAGREED WITH THAT BC HE HAD TAKEN MONEY OUT OF MY POCKET AND ALOT OF OTHERS AND HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AN EXAMPLE!!

If they would have hung him on the town square at high noon like they used to do we wouldn't be wasting our time reading about the repeat offender!

I was told my someone on the water that he was not allowed to fish this TTT. I do not know this as fact but their was a lot of doc talk about what happened in the RAM series. I would def not cast stones until the facts are their. I do believe it is possible to get Dq'd from a tournament but not convicted of cheating. Something to think about... I think the last time I took a polygraph they asked me if I had ever been Dq'd from a tournament but its been so long that I can't remember for sure.

He wasn't very hard to find, I actually just spoke with him. He is willing to show documentation to anyone who wants to see it, to the point that a lot of what is being said is not close to the truth. He said post his number anyone who actually wants to know the truth can contact him. 580 -579 -1116

I would think that the various tournament directors would have evaluated that information from an unbiased standpoint already. If they DQ'd him or would not let him fish, that's really all I need to know.
