It's a good lake for quality fish just hard fishing after a cold front combined with the crazy wind. We had a easy 20lbs Friday just jumping around, only managed 3 bites on Saturday but it was good for 27th place buddies had 16.77 on 3fish which got them 8th

i was blessed because i launched at one of the public ramps. no thefts but the fish on R/C stole my heart. i had a feeling it was going to be tough with the rising and falling water, cold front and me having to relearn the lake all over again from the new growth of willow ridges, but it was more than i could have ever imagined. i fished hard in practice and in the tournament and only managed to catch 2 10in fish. if they keep this lake up and stock some florida bass in there, i can see this lake making a major comeback with all the new cover growing in the lake. i even saw coontail moss floating from where the coots had pulled it up.

We had 35 bites in practice. Only caught one by accident and it was a 4 pounder. On tournament day that turned into 3 fish. I have never been that cold in my life. I had 3 hoodies on and 2 sets of rain gear on. My hands were frozen. Tough muddy lake and had waves so big on the north end that you could not run on pad. Good friends of mine did get 11th with 4 fish.

Worst lake in North Texas. A jackpotters wet dream of a lake. Not a large population of fish you so if you do happen to live on or close to this mud hole and know where a few live. Your in the money.

With you guys on being cold spearing a few waves sure didn't help. Watched my go pro video and ran out of room on my card for the run back. That would have been a cool video.
Congrats to anyone that had fish to weight it was sure tough. Halfway through the day I was just looking forward to texoma. See you guys there.

Agreed I blame myself for not being prepared, both areas I had picked out from the one day I got to practice on the lake were almost unfishable in the wind. Didn't have much else to go on so we struggled. Luckily texoma is next and I actually know a little bit about fishing out there. We knew going into the season we would struggle n the first 3 tournaments, but we're hoping to make up for it on texoma and roberts. Now I just have to make that happen.

Hopefully I can compete in the slugfest for the championship with all the locals in the field, it's going to be crazy at the weight in for roberts in May.

If the weather would have been the same as Friday there would have been close to 100 limits I imagine and a lot more bags in the high teens not sure how many would have been over 20, but I know several people with low weights Saturday were on fish the last few weeks and even Friday. I never figured them out, so I can't say the weather would have helped me to stay the same, I know my back would be feeling better today if the weather was better though.
