sorry to those of you who do understand why daming and pulling more water from oklahoma east texas etc. is a bad idea and do have a true appreciation for the outdoors and not just what you think looks better and allows you to run a sprinkler all day.

It is all politics. Also the treatment of the water from OK. could be a nightmare for some cities.

If the whole country was connected with pipes and could send flood waters from one part of the country to another, then this would not be a problem. I don't think this is too far fetched either. All of our cities have pipes that go out for miles to get water like a spider web. We just need to get connected with the other places. that's my solution.

I've been told the citzens of Cooper & Commerce also held
strong opposition when that lake was built.
It begs the question- does the end justify the means?
how are the landowners compensated for land that may have been in their family for a century?
or are they just "eminent domain-ed" out, much like Jerry-world.

My grandfather owned land in the Red River Valley , now there
is a little lake up there , called Texoma, you may have heard
of it.
I have no problem with eminent domain, as long as market value
is paid.

I'm in the green business and the lakes around dfw at there current status are maxed out for the population. With the population expected to double in the next 25 yrs, where is all this water supposed to come from if not from new lakes? There are water restrictions in most municipalities that only allow irrigation 1 time per week. Water is the commodity of the future, just Ask T Boone Pickens. He bought half the land in Texas Panhandle and is building a pipe line to pump that aquifer to Las Vegas.

There is a fine line between fishing and floating around like an idiot!!

Just make the cities that need more water, build lakes in their own cities. There's enough land in Dallas to build a lake but they make more money from populating their land and using someone elses.

Get TCEQ out of Texas and shut them down, and we will have more water to use.

TCEQ is doing there best to drive up water prices
