There are very fines "lanes" in the red area and like others have said if you are off sometimes as little as a foot you will hit something. The high water will make things look more runnable than they actually are, so spend some time idling, and then when the lake drops a few feet, do another round of idling. Repeat this process and that is how you figure out these so called lanes.

Just pointing out what the telephone poles mean. Don't think I implied that it was the holy grail of knowing where the bad places were.
