So don't sell fish. If you plan on giving fish away make sure your fishing buddies consist of a notary public and a lawyer. No such thing as entrapment for a game warden......Got it. Sure makes catch and release sound more desirable.

fishing/fish not drugs but you asked so he you go..............
•Police have to identify themselves if specifically asked whether they are law enforcement.
Example: "Are you scared that your friend or enemy is an undercover cop, just ask, they are required to tell you if they are reporting to law enforcement."1
•Undercover officers aren't allowed to initiate a drug sale without pre-existing suspicion.2
Example: "An undercover cop comes up to you and asks, 'Do you want to buy some drugs?' You say, 'Yes', and they arrest you. THAT is entrapment, and will be thrown out."3
•Undercover officers aren't allowed to ask for an illegal drug by name. Example: "He tells me that [undercover police] cannot ask you for drugs by name, or even common slang terms. They must call it something else, like 'fun stuff'."4
Nonsense. Cops don't have to identify themselves because you ask, that's a myth. And cops routinely arrest people in a drug house then offer to sell drugs to the people who come by afterwards.

You must accompany any fish given away with a note that has your fishing license number. name, date. The dept. of Wildlife has forms for this. You just have to fill in the blanks. If you are caught in possession of fish, you better have a license or proof that the person that caught the fish had a license.
not true, but the person that gave the fish away must have a license, but not the one who was given

You can give your fish away. I honestly don't know what is required as far as forms, licenses, etc.
I've certainly given away a fair amount of fish near the boat ramp to shore fishermen who were having a slow day.

It seems like we are just protecting the folks we give the fish to. If they do not have a license and possess the fresh caught fish, GW would certainly nail them and take the fish.
Now, I would not want the nice Chinese lady to get busted when she is completely innocent, and I also do not want her to know my name and address.
What if I fillet the fish before I hand them to the nice Chinese lady? GW would not know if they are fresh caught once filleted.

I could but I fished all day for those fish. Not against the law for her to buy a license and apole and catch one. I've given away fish in the past but was not in the mood that day. Those fish were crappie and striper which I like to eat. If had had sand bass, Catfish, Bass or Drum I'd have given away a few. That said, I am not sure if it's legal to posses game fish without a license.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Hahaha... confused aren't we all? I mean poor greenback can't buy delicious wild fish, and you can't catch fish from a non farm water body without permission from the government, ie license. You all know the difference between a communist state and the most free state in the world? A: one is ruled by one party and the other is ruled by two parties. 1 vs 2, that's it my friends. Lol Oh, about this fish, they taste good do give to ladies or guys who take kids fishing, kids love to play with fish for some reason. Why give ? Because I'm alive and my heart is still beating. And tell short/tall fat/skinny bald/redhair ugly/beautiful (or any other adjectives that are legal to say, lol) guy to catch his own fish for his selfie, I'm posting MY fish on TFF, lol

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

I've certainly given away a fair amount of fish near the boat ramp to shore fishermen who were having a slow day. Did that a bunch too. Ear to ear smiles on their faces whenever I give. Like giving out 20$ bills. Lol. Was not aware of the giving rules and regulations but will do it again.

During the sand bass run I keep the first two limits and give the rest to a poor family. She is very happy to get them. Reggie

I dont really think that law was put into place for when you give ol' Farmer Frank and Henrietta or the widow at church a dozen filets every few months. There's no way a judge would ever rule on someone for gifting a meal. I think that law is more for those people that regularly give certain people fish.
