The river has been running 2 to 3 feet above normal here for a while and we are upstream of the San Saba river and not sure what it's doing. Buchanan is at -4.52' below full and that is about 2 feet above where it was before the rains. Been hearing the white and striper bite is outstanding on the upper end of the lake. thumb

I was wondering the same thing. I would assume the river has cleared up a bit since the rain and last report on the 11th.

Call the Ranger Office. They can tell you about the water level and color. Of course I've never had them tell me the fish weren't biting. hammer

was there is past Saturday before Easter. Lots of fishermen wading in front of the park ranger station.. most were catching fish with nice stringer full. Few of the females caught still had their eggs. Water level is good, water slightly stained but clearing. All in all a very nice day.

They were biting today. Ended up with 17 in about 2 1/2 hrs this afternoon, all males.
