I have a hunch there'll be a few limits caught this weekend.

Not to make this a love-fest or anything but Jsinn01 and J-Moe are good fishermen in their own right.. I don't have anything on either of them when it comes to conventional tackle. J-Moe only recently started fly fishing (about a year now) and puts forth a tremendous amount of effort and time into learning the sport and art of the fly.. His Elite Angler status from the TPWD is well earned and is part of what drives him further into the back waters & record books. If you are catching fish and J-Moe is somewhere near by you can bet he is watching and studying what you are doing in great detail..
Sharing what you know to be true with others is the blessing of this life.. pass it on..

There was some hybrids caught today on mainlake, by bank fisherman. I'm not going to expose location, but they have moved into shallows....

My last day off from work is spent just like the prior four with friends fishing the creeks of Lake Somerville. Fly fishing for whitebass is a real hoot when the fish are plentiful and hungry!

We had a fun day at Irwin Bridge today. We got there around 3pm and fished til dark. We weren't anywhere close to limits but my wife caught about 8 big whites. She lost several good fish right at the bank. I caught about the same. Man, those fish are big! I've gotta come back soon.
Nice video as always HL&S. I wish I could learn your spots. You always know where they are. You make it look so easy. I know it just takes times to make it out there and explore. It's been many years since I've come close to a limit here. but. Our 16 fish will make a nice meal for me and my family. My wife is cooking ours tomorrow. Brother and niece are coming over to eat some. Yum Yum.
Not many cars or people at the bridge today. maybe 6 cars? I saw 6-8 people coming out with 15-20+ on their stringers. It was good to see. We had a good day.
tight lines all!
Shut up and fish!

Took my brother with me today as he had never fished for white bass on the creeks. Started at the WMA with nothing and Irwin's with nothing around 3. Went to find some cleaner water. Started picking up a white here and there but it was slow. Never could find any stacked in the holes. Saw a lot of spawning activity. Caught eight kept five. A couple small black bass and crappie. Nice meeting you today J-Moe. Wish I could have stayed longer and got some more tips but my wife and the new baby were waiting at the house. At least I got to get out there for a while today.

Went to Cedar Creek yesterday morning and caught a limit of whitebass. The fishing was slow in the early because they were too busy chasing each other around. But about 10 they started feeding and the fishing got good. Left them still biting around 11:30. Glad I remembered my power converter and extension cord for the cleaning table at the park.

EllerTroy.. those photos were to big (file size)! The server allows the upload but cannot resize the file for some reason.. it use to work but seems to have a problem recently. Use your computer to downsize the photo then try again..

After a few trips on the creek, yesterday we decided to see if we could find some whites in the lake. Took the big boat trolling. We boated 16 big females and one bonus fish; 21" Hybrid. These fish were staged in the creek channel just waiting. We arrived late in the afternoon and caught fish right up until dark. They never moved. I believe this to prove they are not at full spawn yet. Will clean fish in a bit and the eggs will tell.

It was the opposite for me. I was catching them on the fly from 7 AM to 8:30 in the shallow runs, then they quit taking my fly. That was an impressive job of angling

Thanks J-Moe. I think if you would have stayed by the bridge you would have kept catching them. Hopefully the pics turn out this time.
