Does anyone mind sharing if the wind has shut the bite down today (Sunday) in the creeks? I have never done well fishing with wind. My dilemma is a 2-hr drive and whether it is worth it today.

The creeks are fairly well sheltered. I have never had much of an issue with the wind and I fly fish. I didn't fish the creeks this morning, I fished the dam. The fish were biting well.

Outstanding Video Ben. With the fish now in full spawn it creates a very unique set of circumstances. Instead of pulling all the fish out of deep holes they can now be caught throughout the majority of the creek system.

This is an outstanding documentary of the creek system, the spawn, fishing with conventional and especially fly gear. This a must see TFFers

Here's my only small issue Ben:

First, you have Jared (jsinn) using a single small bucktail or small marabou jig just like Doug (Fishytx) does. And putting on an absolute clinic doing it. Man Jared, you said I was mad at them, your face was red and the veins were popping out of your neck. I never seen someone so angry at fish

Then, you have yourself putting on a clinic in small creek fishing with a fly rod. All the while narrating about everything from the woodpeckers to the subtle drift of a light fly in fast moving water.

Finally, you have the clown, J-Moe stuck shin deep in creek mud just so he can throw that annoying little marabou jig far enough to get to the fish But I caught that sucker so I guess it at least demonstrates perseverance

All whites, except 2 were female. Several 16". Full of eggs. No bloody veins in eggs, proving these were not ready to spawn yet.

Me and a friend hit the spillway today and got our limits. Threw back about 30 under 12". I caught two 2" crawdads in my dip net. Had hybrids hit both of them on a Carolina rig type setup. Landed one and the other came off at the bank.

I was there from about 6:30 to 8:45 AM this morning. I was fly fishing. What time did you get there?

Decided to go to Cedar Creek after my cousin Eller,Troy caught a limit there Saturday. I did not do as well as my cousin but I did manage 14 white bass. I thought My day was going to be a quick one after the first 4 cast resulted in fish but I was mistaken. Fished till 10:30 and had 11 fish. Did not catch a fish for about 45 minutes so I drove to Irwin bridge to scope it out. Water was moving to fast for me. So I was heading back towards the state park to clean my fish and thought what the heck. I will stop off at cedar creek one more time since it was on the way. First three cast three white bass and I thought Game On but it was not to be. Fished for thirty more minutes with no fish then had to leave. It sure was fun fighting those white bass again. I have caught over 200 crappie this season and I would trade all of them for the fight of those 14 white bass. All in all a good day. I now have the WHITEBASS FEVER!!!!

It really surprises me how much the fish move around and change their holding places and what they will take. J-Moe and I made a late afternoon dash up a creek looking for whitebass but didn't find them where the fish had been just a few days before.. I think you need to be very sneaky when creek fishing especially if the water is low and clear. For the fly fisher that means long casts and light line with smaller flys..

We pulled in shortly after 5. Started off thinking we would just keep anything that measured, but once we had about 20 on the stringer we decided to be a little pickier. that added quite a bit of time to the trip. I don't think we got loaded to head out until shortly after noon. I guess from where I was I couldn't see you. The only fly rod I saw used was an older oriental gentleman catching big carp. He was fishing something under a long wooden float.

The more I fish Somerville, the more I love it. It was certainly interesting watching all the different ethnic backgrounds represented there today. Seeing everyone employing different tactics was pretty cool.

Beautiful Sunday afternoon to slip away and enjoy the great outdoors!
