That's seems to almost be forbidden round here.....LOL
I agree with reducing your range, it'll give better definition of the structure......

Did you get a map chip with it, and if so, what kind?

later...don

Haven't gotten a map chip yet. The one that comes with it is terrible compared to the cheap Lowrance DI unit that I have. Guess they want the upsale.

I love the Lakemaster chips I got for mine thumb

I just bought and installed a new Helix 9 on my 18' aluminum War Eagle but my SI isn't nearly as clear or detailed as your shots Jacob. I'm using the same color palette. I have played with the sensitivity settings but I can't get that kind of detail or contrast for objects on the bottom even when I shorten the side range. Do I need a better transducer? Also, mine shows the same "streak" as yours running just on the left side of the center line. Is that interference from the outboard? My transducer is on the right (driver) side of the transom. I have raised my outboard completely out of the water, even tried killing it but the streak stays. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Turn your chart speed down to 2 and travel about 3-3.5mph. If your chart speed is too high, it will look blurry. When you turn it down, it's writing more data into the chart picture.

That makes sense, and I'm certain I haven't gone into that menu yet to adjust the chart speed. I'm going to give that a try. Thanks for the tip!
