Nice crappie! Are they still out deep in main lake, or are they starting to move shallow?

Awesome hybrid, congrats. That's a good day of fishing I don't care who you are. Oh yeah, thanks for the fish porn. Here I sit wishing I was fishing and looking at these pics doesn't make matters any better. LOL Great catch...... Thanks Doug, I really appreciate it.

Thanks Hoggwild, It's all good. I love the banter, so I couldn't resist poking back. Great Catch on the crappie I'm still looking for my first 15 inch crappie. The spawn is getting closer so I suspect I'll do some fly fishing around Overlook soon.

Went up Yegua in boat yesterday........lots of Black Bass. Two in the 4-4.5 range. Boated several White's and a handful of crappie. Nice day out, but not a bunch of movement yet. Fished from the mouth at the lake, up several miles. Water stained, 64 degrees, moving slowly.

A guy showed me a picture of a 9.5 lb. bass he caught below the dam last week. It shouldn't be too much longer before they are spawning on the lake. Thanks for the report and information on water temperature.

Buddy of mine that lives on his ranch in Lexington said he got close to a 1.5 last night. Wondering if any of that will make it down towards the lake?

While everyone goes to the creeks at the upper end of Lake Somerville for whites & crappie I'll go back in time up another creek of history. As always excellent job on the video!! I have a few specific questions so sent you an IM..

I drove out to the lake this morning. I drove over the dam and the spillway paking lot was already half full at 6:15 AM. They are not releasing water so I thought it was odd. I just had to check it out. I sure am glad I did. I fished with my fly rod and gray & white clouser again. I slowly started catching fish and once I got the presentation down I started catching fish on just about every other cast. It was kind of comical. I was the only person catching fish so I kept getting asked what I was using over and over again. People even took pictures of my fly. I ended up catching 8 hyrbrids and 20 or so white bass before being crowded out of my spot. Catching the hybrids on my 4 weight was incredible. It was way over matched for those hybrids. They hit the fly so hard a couple times that they almost jerked the rod from my hands. There are no fly fishing records established for the Yegua so I decided to have them officially weighed at the Marina so I can submit them for water body records. I registered a 5 lb./ 22 inch hybrid, a 1.8 lb./ 16.25 inch white bass and a 5.9 lb. buffalo. I lost 2 hybrids that were even bigger. I was using a 6 lb. tippet. I tried sizing up to a 12 lb. tippet but the fish ignored my bait and I couldn't get a bite so I had to go back to the 6 lb. tippet prior to landing the 5 lb. hybrid. Awesome fish Jamie. Keep those records coming! Side Note: I am sure glad you use a fly rod most of the time. I am also glad you mainly fish north of me. Again SUPER FISH! Bet the fights were GREAT!
