Gotta be the same fish. The odds of two of that same color being in that pond have to be small. Good looking fish.

i dont know if i would bet on that being the same fish . the dark areas around the eye area on Claytons fish lead me to believe that its his brother . irregardless its a great catch Mike !

If this is this same fish it was last caught March 1st 2014. About 10 days away from 2 years ago. I still have my money betting its the same fish. The more I study the pics the more patterns that I see that are the same. I think the black on head just changed over time as the fish grew up. The orange dots and other black scales all line up the same. I went back this evening and had a good night landing 6 common carp with the biggest at 16lb 10 oz.

Beautiful fish. Never seen markings like that on a fish.

Recaptures happen! Yes,I'm also thinking that the black area may have grown in over two years time but I'm not familiar with changing colors happen over time with these or not. Awesome fish. I recaptured one on ladybird lake that was very similar to this one that had been cpr'd by Scottevil 4 years prior and only a couple hundred yards away from where I recaptured it and still consider these rare fish to be a catch of a lifetime, nice job Mike that's a lifetime achievemnet capture right there! Here is my capture, a 15lb 1 oz. LBL beauty.

Nice fish! After doing some research the fish I caught is a butterfly koi aka dragon carp. Known for its very long flowing fins and tails.

This Koi was caught twice in the same day at Joe Pool Lake. I caught it during the morning. A friend came out for the afternoon that had never carp fished and caught it again as his first ever carp.

Yes you are correct Mike the fish you and I captured are both butterfly koi. They are pretty rare. The fish myself and Scottevil cpr'd is the only one I've ever seen posted from LBL, maybe one other white koi that could be blood related to it was posted but I don't think it was a butterfly.
