Ok, thanks. Not having much luck finding any names or numbers. Any idea of what the name of the store is?

We always called it "The Bend Store." Not sure if that is the real name?

I've actually seen that one online, but when you google map the address it places it near Graham. No where close to Sulphur Springs camp, or Colorado Bend...

Keep everyone in the loop on this thread when whites decide to run. If anyone hears anything mention it here. I plan on going in March myself.

that would be the main hardtop where you turn left and hit the gravel road. Store is on the left No gravel road going to the park anymore. Paved right up to ranger headquarters.

I fished Bend on Sunday the 31st. Saw a lot of deer and flock of turkeys. At the ramp, there was no apparent flow. Lots of water though. There are some fish there. All we caught were males and they were all in the center of the river. They bit greenish 1/8 oz crappie jigs. I think the fish are poised for the run. We need a little rain to get the water flowing then the fish will be there in numbers.

I just hope the drought hasn't hurt them to bad. Maybe not Lake Buchanan is big even at 30% full I think its up to 87% full now. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens praying for some good fishing this year. good luck to everyone yall kept us posted and will do the same. we might go this weekend

Gonna enjoy just being down there for a few days. Not as many as I want. Have to pack up and get ready to go to Fork end of the week. If we catch fish it will just be a bonus. I am bringing the frying pan and grease just in case.

I made the trip out to Bend last night and hit the state park with a buddy this morning (2-16). We were at the ramp by 630 and on the water by 710. Temps to start the morning were a frigid 36 degrees. It was pretty damn cold to start. I landed a white bass right in front of the launch on a rattle trap about 5 mins of being on the water. My buddy and I paddled down river, trolling rattle traps and other assorted lures. The only lure that we caught any fish on was the rattle trap and all fish were caught trolling a very slow troll about 20yards from the banks. We would work an area slowly, and when we would hook a fish we would make multiple passes around the area and for the most part, ended up catching multiple fish in a particular spot. It was essentially a slow drift with the wind while trolling the traps behind us. We made it down a few miles, around the bend to the left and we went just as far as the power lines that are crossing over the river a couple miles down. Fishing was rather slow until about 11 when it started to warm up and the bite picked up. We ended up catching 31 between the two of us. I would say over half were fat females, with the minority being smaller males. We made it back to the ramp about 130, and had been catching fish all the way from downriver back up to the ramp. Saw multiple boats on the water, most trolling as well. We talked to the game warden and he said that there wasn't too many limits coming out of there yet. Last week, on the warmer days, there were some limits but the guys were fishing all day. I did catch a fat channel cat trolling a rattle trap as well. The guy who works the park caught some large catfish last night on dead shad. I think he said the smallest was 11# and the largest 20+#...Good day of fishing. Weather was beautiful. It warmed up to 78 when we were getting off the water. The wind had picked up a little also, but it wasn't too terrible. The scenery out there is phenomenal...if you have never been, do yourself a favor and get out to the park. Wildlife like you wouldn't believe and the most amazing cliff faces. Absolutely amazing day on the water. Take care and be safe.
