in Bossier City is....there's a Hooter's next door to it. BPS advertised a rod/reel combo on sale for $99 so I drive for a little over an hour to get there and they only have 2 which are both left handed. The salesman says they have 150 more of that combo being delivered tomorrow. I said, you have the same rod and the same reel on the shelves, why can't you sell them to me for the same price as the combo and save me the long drive. Oh no, we cant do that! pfftt! Sorry about the rant. Which combo was it?

Not a fan of BPS, the customer service is poor.

Sorry about the rant. Which combo was it? CarbonLite Baitcast Combo. It's not that big a deal. I was just a little ticked cause it takes me over an hour to get there...they didn't have any...and then try to talk me into a more expensive combo. It felt like the old bait and switch scam. Anyway, it's over and done. Once again, apologize for the rant.

I AVOID THE PLACE... but once in a while they have something nobody else does... or they have an offer I cant refuse but 99% of my shopping is Anglers Pro or Fun-n-Sun

I love BPS. They may be a little high on some things but they have everything. It's great to just browse on a cold or rainy day. If things are too high, I use Tackle Warehouse. I never had a problem with customer service in the stores.

They need to turn on the lights. You know it's to dark to see when you ask for help finding something and the worker uses a flashlight to look for it.

Bush hog I had the same experience in Grapevine on Saturday. I was there the weekend before, and actually had one of the rods being run on the combo sale and a Duckett rod ready to check out. The salesman talked me out of buying them because they were going on sale. Went back up there on Saturday for 2 of the rod combos, one in heavy the other medium/ heavy. They didn't have any heavy's, after they told me they would have them. Talked to one of the sales guys and he said they didn't have any and couldn't make one. I waited in line at the counter to see if they would let me switch out the mh rod for a heavy. One guy turned and asked, I'm guessing it was a manager, and rudely snapped "absolutely not, no switches". I was pretty irritated because I had the exact model Rod in a heavy in my hand with one of the combos and they wouldn't cut a flipping zip tie to switch the rod.

The beer upstairs at the Grapevine BPS makes the poor customer service seem less poor.

The beer upstairs at the Grapevine BPS makes the poor customer service seem less poor. The beer at Hooters had ice floating on top and the cheeseburger was delicious. Wasn't even concerned about customer service for about an hour.

This does not excuse poor customer service but the sales associates are not paid very well at all! When I worked at Grapevine when it opened we were paid like 7 something an hour and worked our rears off opening that place. I feel like if you decide to work retail you need to understand that customer service is the most important aspect of your job regardless of your pay. I think some of the folks that work retail at many places not just BPS don't get that. By the way this was by far my favorite job ever but with my tackle habit I think I owed them every month. It is not a good idea for a second job for a tackle junky! I rarely shop there now but it is still a thrill to walk in there and see all of that cool stuff!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

My parents actually asked me what was going on at BPS in Bossier this weekend, as there was no parking to be found in that place. Guess there was a run on gear. Might have been a car show in the parking lot.
