Was catfishing with my dad and uncle once out of some marina docks at night. Catfish hit my rod and jerked it in the water. Lost the rod.
But about an hour later, my dad thought he had a bite, he set the hook, thought he had a fish, and he reeled in my rod and reel! lol....

Bum Deal. It is better to have fought and lost, than to have not fought at all. You got that right. A couple of my favorite memories were of fish I had on at Fork that felt so much different than any other bass I have caught that I still daydream about those times and what might have been on the other end of my line.
