I was thinking of heading out there this weekend one day. I haven't been since just before it was closed down. Never fish it this time of the year but hear it's TOUGH... bang

I went out Wednesday and spent 7 hours in Lick and Walnut creeks. Jerk baits around the walnut bridge, football jigs and c-rigs in deeper timber, flipped bushes, and c-rigs all over, and never got a single damned bite. Brutal. Water was 48 degrees in those areas.

ETA: When I was leaving I spoke to a gentleman who said a couple weeks ago he caught three fish on a 30 foot deep main lake point with an a-rig, and 2 of the 3 fish were tens. He also said he could only get bit at midday. He was a good guy and didn't seem like the type to tell outrageous fish stories, so I took his word for it.
