I have 5k to spend. on the PA. hope that I don't have to spend it all on that but that's what I have set aside. yes I relies I could get a small jon boat, or a used bass boat. But the whole reason for the Kayak is its less upkeep than a boat with a motor. And the couple of times I went out on a kayak to fish I had more fun than in a reg ol' bass boat. Mariner-sails will definitely get ya setup great!! Sounds like your gonna have a great time riggin that bad boy up!! Advice given to me is take it out first and see what ya want versus what ya need then rig!! WILL be needing pics!!

Thanks for all your guys help and advice. when I get the yak I'll have to get pics up for y'all to see. haven't even looked at the accessories yet just seems like so much LOL so I think I'll take one step at a time here. I know a depth finder is a must for me just don't know what I will go with on that yet, I need to start reading about them.

anybody ever use this? HOBIE - RHINO NAUTIC KAYAK LIFTER? it says it lefts up to 170lbs or so.

Bought a 12 ft. Hobie Pro Angler a couple of years back from Mariner Sails and couldn't be happier. Stable platform and can accessorize till you hearts content or money runs out. Lakes, bays and Gulf and still going strong! Love the 'Turbo' fins!

You're talking at least 120 lbs empty weight of kayak. You can buy a folding trailer or one that stands up in the garage. Yakima has a pricey one that gets pretty compact. I have a Malone with a retractable tongue that stands on end for storage and still lets me get my truck in the garage.  This make me want a trailer. The main reason for not wanting a trailer is that I didnt have room for it. If I could get it to stand up it would take up next to nothing amount of space. Brilliant!
