There in there thick still. You just have to have the right stuff to get them to bite. Doesn't hurt to hit a good hole either. For the most, they're kind a laying low key. It's the cold water, as soon as it warms up a little more, they should become more active. That's what I'm hoping for anyways. Heck, my numbers have been declining and I am working hard for a bite. There is chance I'll go late tomorrow, but leaning more towards Monday before I give it another go around. Might even have to change where I fish. My so called honey holes are just a few grains of sugar here lately. Time to try something different and get back on this catching thing.

I imagine in order to do well in the Yegua today you really have to know your stuff. For most weekend warriors that certainly takes a while to accomplish and I am no where close yet. I can count on 2 hands how many times I have fished the Yegua in the last 10 years.

As for today, I'm only stating the facts of what I witnessed and conversed with other anglers as I moved up and down the creek. Most people were getting skunked. Of the few pairs I passed by that had stringers in the water, they also had bait buckets. But even then I saw others with live bait getting skunked as well. This was 7am-11am today.

Was there an afternoon/evening bite below Irwin?

working on video right now. Fishing was good but the paddle back across the lake was tough.

Enjoyed the video. Wish I didn't have a jacked up back, I would own one of these and fish from it a lot. I use to fish from a tube and canoe, so I know how much fun it is.

Something came up and I wont be fishing tomorrow, it is totally out of the question, so it is looking more like a trip today is in my play book. Tuesday I will be there as well.(unless something else pops up) I hate it when things pop up that take away from my fishing time, but is what it is......life is good.

Me and my 3 boys fished below Irwin from the bridge to the bend and back to where the creek almost comes back together. 4 of us spread out and fished a fan pattern for about 5 min then moved on. We pretty much fished the entire creek in that stretch. Being competitive we kept up with the numbers. 145 fish in total. 80% of that were perch followed by crappie, lm bass then 2 carp(that was a surprise) we made it a point to always use different jigs till we find the one fish want. We caught fish on everything. The last hour was spent using worms and power bait. Absolutely no whites what so ever. Of the 145 only 1 crappie was legal. My kids loved it and had a great time although I was a little disappointed in the lack of whites. I did see 2 stringers, one on live bait only and one on crawfish and jigs.

Had another good day with my daughter. We caught around 40 crappie but with only 4 keepers. No white bass at all this time. It was nowhere near the fast paced action we had last weekend in the same spot but it was steady enough to keep an 11 year old occupied. My opinion is we need some rain to really get this run going. Catching crappie is okay but nothing like the white bass. Hopefully it gets going.
