First .... let me say here that these are 48 hr trips on the DSH boats. They leave at 6 AM and return 48 hrs later at 6 AM. So the duration of the trip would be 2.0 days. Less fishing time.
Having cut my tuna teeth on the Pelican many years before platforms such as The Big "E" and the Scat Cat came along the absence of showers is not an issue for me but I can see where it would be for some folks.
Something else to consider are the perks of staying on the boat the night before the trip and having an almost full service galley. Hence the difference in cost of some$60 per person or so.
These things need to be considered by folks thinking of joining this trip.
I can say for me the partying is fun but the bottom line is catching and bringing home fish. I have never had a bad trip with DSH.

I'm sure I'll go along with whatever the group decides. The food is not so much an issue for me and for the most part, neither is the shower. However, I have to imagine that the 6-7 hour ride home is going to feel and smell a bit more fishy without a shower. Dad, if that ends up being the case, we might be taking your truck instead of my car this year.

Now we'll have to measure and count all of our fish.

While we a wait for a reply from James (Capt. of the Pelican) I was thinking what we could do in Chuck's case is if the boats are drifting somewhat close together and Chuck is bored with the entertainment level of his present group maybe the boats would pull close enough together to let him jump from one boat to the other. Just a thought

Do we have a price per person for the trip with DSH? And are we going to pay for the trip with a down payment and deadline for all monies as per the other trips before, Brian? And are we looking at doing both the deep drop And the Mojo Tuna Safari with DSH?

I'm new to the group, so that being said,I really enjoyed the last trip aboard the Scat Cat. I realize that the trip was made wholly by the capt. that we had for that trip but all in all I felt like we had a pretty good trip.I realize that there we're many people that trip that didn't have such a great trip. But the thing I love the most about our trips is being with the group. I'm not all that fired up about splitting up the group between 2 boats. I'll go along with what the group decides and with what my Dad wants to do. Its just my two cents. But I sure do love that ride on the Scat Cat. I would like to see if FW could put that captain back on the boat for our trips. But FW obviously don't act like they cherish our business nor our money.

Thanks to Brian for the work and willingness to put this together again. I really have enjoyed being part of last year's fishing with all of y'all.
