That 225 isn't going to turn a 27 very well. Go down to 25.

Something is way way off here. Before I did anything else to any prop or lower the motor or anything, I would get the tach on that boat checked out to make sure its reading right. Then once you get an accurate rpm reading go from there. At 6000 rpm with a 27p prop running 61 is 30% slip. Thats rediculous and almost unheard of. Get your tach checked to make sure its reading right and go from there.

Ordered the fury 25" today should be in a day or two. I think I was over trimming the 27 to get the rpms up. Will double check the tachometer just to be sure

Got the prop in today. Full tank of gas, me, and my 110lb dog it topped out at 67mph. The lake was a little rough so I can probably get an extra mile or two more. Tried raising the jackplate 1/2 inch but didn't see any gains that were noticeable. Pretty sure the tachometer is off since it showed I hit 7000rpm and the sho has a governor at 6200-6400
