JMoe, you had an awesome day. Your fishing time was rewarded with a lot of catching. I don't care to much for the hard fishing part, but when you're catching something from all your efforts, the reward of the catch is why we do it. You had a great day, one most people dream of having, awesome trip man.

J-moe you do know that all you have to do to download pictures on this forum is to hit the icon with the blue arrow above then browse your files on the phone and select pictures.

I've done this several times and it didn't download. I was trying to get pics off m y phone, not sure if that is an issue or not, because I have done it before. Sometimes it doesn't want to download though.

It works on my Samsung S5. At least so far it has worked everytime but I don't catch as many fish as you do fishytx so I haven't tried to download as many pictures as you have.

I have the same phone, just every now and then it will tell me that the download failed. Not often, but after you try several times you just give up. Then I can try the next day and it works just fine.

I received a text from J-Moe this morning, man, He is on them again. He’s catching more whites this morning and he is getting them on the fly. Awesome. I asked if he was letting it drift, but he said no, he was stripping line pretty quickly. So, these fly angler baits seem to be the ticket, these fish like what they see and sucking them up.
Whack em good Jamie.

He's definitely the exception. I've been here since 7am and only caught 1 crappie. Everyone else I've seen has done about the same. Lots of empty stringers. A pair at the first bend from the parking lot have a mess of them though but had a minow bucket.

I'm not sure what creek he's on though. But he's catching fish.

There are lots of creeks around Lake Sommerville. Birch, McCain, Cedar, Nails, Jardelle, etc.

Well, I didn't think the fishing could get any better. But it did because I was catching more white bass today. Color didn't even seem to matter. I caught several fish on a chartreuse/white clouser before I had a white break my leader. I put on blue and white and continued with the non-stop bite. I stood in that one spot and caught 40 crappie, 10 white bass, 2 LMB and 20 plus bluegill. I then went exploring with jigs and caught 10 more white bass and 7 more LMB.

I ended this morning with 40 crappie, 20 white bass, 9 LMB and lots of small bluegill.

And to clarify, I am a catch and release fisherman.

Awesome fishing right there. I'm gonna wait it out till Monday. I think!!!
I already have an itch to go, so I'm not sure I can wait that long. Yesterday I was out on a lake catching blacks, really didn't get my fishing fix I needed, but it was ok.

Other creeks there are indeed.
Unless you can go in the middle of the week when the pressure is off, I'd say the Yegua between Irwin and Newman is pretty much done for most folks. Until the area gets another rain followed by more weather like today that is. I saw people using crawfish and minnows that did not pull out a single fish.

Walked about 2/3 way to newmans. Caught 3 whites and a black bass by 8. Nothing after that. Walked in and fished out. All fish caught way downstream

I had a back injury yesterday at work so I'm out of commission as the truck and boat were hooked to fish this weekend. Was excited about hitting the creek from boat...

Had a friend and brother go without me, they fished Irwin this morning.

They caught mess full of whites and few crappie
