SLW, bringing back memories. I never got into the tournament deal but bass fished back in the day. Did you know Floyd Mabry, Jackie Hewlett, Murry Muston. As a kid, I got to fish with Mabry twice. Awesome fisherman. Also got to be around Hewlett and Muston at several tournaments on Lake Belton back in it's heyday. Mabry was an astonishing fisherman. I believe he could catch fish in the middle of a highway.

Book update:

I believe the limit was 15 bass in 1977 so you are 5 bass short. HaHa!

You're right. I caught 6 more that day between 6 & 8 lbs but only kept those 8 lbs or better.

An old school bass tournament angler told me that Lake Kirby in Abilene held a record for a 10 bass stringer weighing 77 pounds at one time. No way to confirm it but if anyone knows or has fished Kirby would agree that would be super impressive!

Cast I have never fished that lake but if it's true that is s great catch. I got a message last week and photos of 10 bass over 10 lbs in a single day caught on a private lake a week ago.
