It took me years of fishing to find these big bass holes. Most of my fishing buddies have passed on or no longer fish TB. I will be 70 in June, live outside of Dallas so I don't mind sharing the map info nuts. If someone finds one of these spots I hope they have their PB day ever also.

Very Impressive!!! If those are native strain largemouth it's even more of a feat. TPWD didn't start stocking Florida bass in T-Bend until 1972. They had 5 years to get to that size if they were Florida strain.

That is a GREAT day on the water! There is a guy named Tommy Brown from that neck of the woods that has something very similar to this. His fish weren't from TB from what I recall and it's the only single day mount I've ever seen that can give you a run for your money.
I can only imagine how many times you've been asked to tell that story.
Thanks again for sharing.

Buck Perry award for Spring Lizard for wanting to pay it forward and give others a chance at fishing trip of a lifetime. Spring lizard, spring chicken, a little pun in that handle, I think. Besides being lure of choice

The photo of these fish will be on the cover of my new book coming out in March. See My 2 cents worth from an old big bass fisherman post for more details. It will be about my journey on Toledo Bend from 1969 on and will have a lot of history of TB as well as lures, techniques, maps, illustrations, photos and stories The photo of these fish will be on the cover of my new book coming out in March. That's an awesome stringer.
I recall back in late 70's or early 80's seeing couple more mounts like that from Toledo. One was from a guy in Many, La, I think his name was Raymond Gauthier. This was across the Pendleton bridge. The other was at a Marina restaurant, maybe it was called Shamrock in Patroon creek. Always dreamed about catching a stringer like that after seeing those mounts.
Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

I will decide the name of the book when I finish it but I can assure you one word of the title will be "Journey" because fishing took me on a journey of a lifetime that encompassed not only catching big bass but working in the Bass Fishing Revolution era involving many lakes, fisherman, tournaments, the fishing manufacturing business with not only lures but boats as well.

I took 4 bottles of waterdogs to Lucas here on the forum to Rudy's BBQ on the North Dallas Tollway in Frisco yesterday. What a nice young man! He treated my wife and I to some great BBQ where he works the night shift. He was full of questions like do you still fish? Do you put the waterdogs back in the bottle when you are finished and so on. I explained to him the easy part was putting the waterdog on the jig but showed him the trick of getting it off the hook when you are finished with it. Trust me if you don't know this trick, you still be trying to get it off the hook at midnight! He fishes out of a kayak, but I could tell by talking to him he had a love for bass fishing that will one day be one to reckon with.
