I wasn't able to get on a good bite. I did see a few others doing well though. It's slow, but if you can get on a good spot, they will bite. One guy had a limit, another guy caught 17 on a fly rod. He went way downstream to get his. I caught 4 whites and countless small crappie.

I've decided that I'm going to wait till the water warms up a little more before I go back. My catch rate is going down at this point, so I feel like I'm wasting my time. Warmer weather this weekend, maybe one day next week I can get back on a good bite. Seems like the better stringers are coming from way downstream. It's about a mile walk which isn't too bad, it's the walk back with a heavy stringer that will get cha. We still have two months to go, so there's plenty of time to catch these guys. I'll go fish for some black bass for a little while. What I like best about bank fishing is, there is no boat to deal with.

Will be making the long trip from Leander on Sunday to give it a go. Hopefully I can remember the spot I caught them in last time and hope they are there again. That was a blast. Will report Sunday afternoon.

Curious. How long of a drive is it from Leander?

The guy with the fly rod had an awesome fly. Very light and he would just let the fly sink as far down as his tip line on the floating line and he would just let it drift through a hole twitching it just enough to trigger a strike. They would come up off the bottom and get it.

Could you see the fish come up and hit the fly? That must have been pretty cool.

J-moe it takes me about 1 hour and 40 minutes one way. But the big yegua whites are worth it.

Yeah, takes me about 1.5 hours. Sent you a PM about a good Crappie spot a little closer to home.

I bet it will pick up. Gonna be a warming trend. And the water did look good. On another note I went a ways up nails and that water was rather murky.

Yeah Jsinn01 but you can't catch the whites there. Especially the size of the Yegua whites. That's what I am hoping to catch. But I will take a mess of crappie if the white bass are slow to bite.
