I have had a DD but no HIO.When I get the elusive HIO I'll report back to which one I prefer.

I've had 4 hole in ones but only one DD. Take another DD any day over another hio. Of course it's a lot easier to get a hio in Kansas than a DD. SE Kansas grass grower

I have had 2 hole in ones, 4 double eagles. Been fishing bass for the last 5-6 yr and PB is 9.2 lbs. Still waiting on that big girl!

I don't have a hole in one, but i did eagle a par four from 210 yards and that is kinda the equivalent. I would rather catch a DD.

I've had one of each and hands down the 10.25 lbr was my favorite. (Full disclosure, I've also had several DDs while golfing!)

Either as long as I'm around good friends. Cause kicking their butts is number 1.

DD. Atleast that way I could feel like I made the right decisions to put me in that spot to make it happen. A hole in one would just be total luck.

Or catching a DD fishing the golf course ponds right after hitting a hole-in-one....and then I woke up.

I am sure some will say they have made a ton of hole in ones.

I look at it like this - you usually have 4 chances at a hole in 1 during every round of golf. I dunno if I have a legitimate shot at a DD every time out, much less 4 shots at one. DD has got to be much more uncommon. Hitting a hole in 1 is exhilarating but I think even catching my PB 9.75 is worth the 3 aces I've hit.

Pro golfers hit hole in one's tournaments, aside from Justin Lucas fishing the California Delta last year, I can't remember the last time I saw a pro catch a DD in a tournament. It IS that much harder to do than a hitting hole in one in my opinion.
I played a lot of golf and never hit a hole in one and it does not bother me, I've been close. The first time I missed a possible DD I lost sleep over it.
I have 3 DD's now, I'll take the DD for the adrenaline rush any day of the week. Fishing over golfing every time when given the option.

Guess it depends on where you fish. Read online where Butch Brown has caught 1500+ bass over 10 lbs.

Haven't really watched the elites until this year...guess I was wrong, but I'll stick with my answer, DD over HIO

Avid golfer and fisherman... 6 hole in ones, several double eagles, one DD bass and one 13+ lb bonefish. The fish were much more exciting than the any of the hole in ones. Can't remember much about some of the hole in ones, remember everything about the fish.
