35+ lb stringer came South this time last year, but the team that did it had been on that school of fish for weeks! There are weeks you can win South but I can't stress enough "weeks" out of the year. 99% are just donating if you want to fish South in Jan, Feb, or March on Palestine, it's the truth and it hurts but statistics don't lie.

NO ROOM for error running the North/South pipeline into Kickapoo so the guy in front of you better have his bearing correct. Idle past the camp, it takes about 45 minutes into Kickapoo from there, maybe an hour 1/2 up to the mouth of the river?

And remember....the lake is high right now so even running the Northeast bank into the camp looks deceiving, don't assume its wide open far out from the bank, hug the boat houses!

Bring breakfast with ya, run north as far as you can safely before it narrows down, and eat breakfast idling the rest of the way to the best water on the lake. thumb You can easily get up there without causing damage to anything if you just use your head. Remember, lots of folks dont want you to go up there and will make it sound like death on a stick to keep as many people away as possible.

This is very true. Most people won't go up there because of the time investment but make no mistake about it, that is where the best water on the lake is. If you don't know the run do like he says and you will be fine. But if you have any doubt, idle it out. Good luck this weekend. I'll see you out there!

I live in Tyler and have been fishing Palestine for 20 years. I was running north toward the highline with a guy who has fished it even longer than I have and I nailed a stump with my motor at about 60 mph three or four years ago. The lake was full at the time. The run along the east bank to the highline from the Villages isn't clear, it's just that most of us get lucky most of the time.

BTW, I was not running close to the bank when it happened. I was between the last point on the right and the highline. The guy with me had just said, "It's clear here. Just run straight at that highline pole and you're fine."

If going north and running the power lines watch for floaters. Nailed one last year when coming up on pad. Idle around the island you will know it when you see it. If going into saline creek reference the map above past the bridge in back is not clear. If going into Flat Creek idle after going under the bridge 30 minutes to the back.

You left off the most important part of my post with your quote! *****Note I haven't been on the lake in a few years any advice may be outdated, not responsible for lost or damaged equipment!

For the entire lake? Bad idea!

Very BAD advice !!!!

Concentrate on Saline Bay, Ledbetter & Highsaw.
Fish the boat houses and weed beds in Ledbetter and around the 2 islands in the back of Ledbetter.
There are good fish in these 3 places.

it is still very very muddy up North. The wind yesterday & last night did not help any.
This tournament will be won from mid-lake down.
