dont get too wrapped up on colors when it comes to flukes. Otherwise you will go crazy and end up with too much crxp with you. Stick with watermelon red and pearl or white. Take lots of dye as someone mentioned. lots of tail dipping and sometimes submerge white baits in dye (my guide calls it the electric chicken). flukes should be magnum size. Having them is almost a must have bait. Crig mostly but tx rig, split shot and weightless.

if i had to do it over i would have just takin mag flukes hahahaha. white with or with out dipped tail. deep crankbait, and V&M mag lizards in black blue & watermelon red, bring white storm swimbaits.

I went last year end of march and in 4.25 days of fishing with 2 people we caught over 500 bass, mainly flukes.

check me out @ Bruce Norvell "outdoor dreams" of my trip photos and i can give you detailed accounts.

Also what outtfitter are you taking.

The nets make it much harder to fish off shore... They do a pretty fair job of not running along the banks other wise its really a killer. I think the nets are out until the 12-15th... but it can change depending on the harvest from what I'm told. I like it much better with out them for sure...

Good luck to you Skip!

We'll continue whacking and stacking at Pro Bass Adventures > El Salto & Baccarac!

You and Gary can compare notes when you return.
Gary, why don't you and Skip set up a TFF photo contest for your respective Feb. trips?

Good luck to all...

Big numbers of 5-8 lb chunks yesterday at El Salto, and one 11.4 pig.

Baccarac blew up yesterday with lots of 7,8,9,10+ fish...best day so far this season.
I think this is the start of what we've been waiting for at Baccarac this year.
The multiple cold fronts that have passed trough kept things variable, but since we've had some steady weather and full sun on the water for over a week now, the big girls have decided to eat. Expect a lot more giants now through May/June.

Rick T. with another Baccarac Slob...
