Moon I sent you a message, check it out you might like it. thumb

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

Hey, guys. We live in Prosper (just west of Mckinney) and I was thinking of coming up to the dam this weekend with my son and fishing from the bank. What are your thoughts on bringing perch from some ponds in Prosper as bait? I realize that shad are ideal. Has anyone ever tried perch? If so, hook through dorsal fin on what a good size circle hook perhaps? Any help would be appreciated.
Lastly, is the oklahoma side that much better than TX side (let's leave football rivalries out of it smile
Thanks again.

that's good to know T3. Thanks. I checked the hydropower release schedule for the past few days at the dam http://www.swt-wc.usace.army.mil/power/hydropower.html
Looks like two turbines were being run for the past week or so but that they stopped today. Maybe they'll be off this weekend as well?
My plan was a 2 oz pyramid weight though. I guess it will all depend on the strength of the flow.

27000 cfs will be tough to fish with live bait. No end in sight. Lake still up pretty good.
