When I was making spinner baits back in the mid 70s I used to send a lot of yellow skirted ones to Santee Cooper lakes. That was the hot item for the color the water was the friend of mine who lived there would order 100 at a time.

I can remember buying/using H&H spinnerbaits for 19 cents each as a kid. I probably didn't know there was any color other than yellow for a while, LOL. In more recent decades, a standby in south Florida (for the Everglades at least) was a true yellow Snagless Sally. Those had a vinyl skirt.
