I mounted my LSS transducer about 4-6" higher than my skimmer just to protect it more. I had to trim my motor up for a decent picture on the other side, but other than that the quality was great.

Yeah I guess due to the way the LSS ducer works you shouldn't have a problem with it being mounted above or on level to the skimmer puck. The LSS ducer has crystals along its entirety and the skimmer is so little. I've always run shoot through the hull pucks on my bass boats but obviously that's not always an option for most boats.
It's kinda sad to see how slow the Lowrance page/thread has become. Used to be guys posting pics and talking about the new products coming out. Now, almost nobody will even take the time to help others figure out their problems. Shooter, there are tons of videos on YouTube to watch to help you get a feel for the installation process and it's really pretty straight forward. Just lay everything out where you want to put it and check how you're going to run the cables. Try to run the graphs power directly to the batteries to avoid any problems with the graph starving to get enough amps to run properly.

Sharing map is only with the HDS Gen2 and 3 and sharing waypoints is possible with the Elite link with NMEA 2000 but only when the 2 units are power on at the same time.

Looking for some help with my Lowrance Elite 7 chart screen.
What would cause my routes/trails to be deleted from my chart when I go back to a lake I haven't been to in a while?
Thank you.

think all you would need is the HDI transducer for the bow.

I have two HDS units, networked, an HDS 8 Gen1 and an HDS 9 touch (Gen 2). I would like to add an old LMS330 to the network for chart only at the console. Can anyone tell me if this will work, what cables/cords I would need? The 330 has a "blue" network port on the back, and that's all. adapter cable?

Have pinpoint trolling motor with nmea to lowrance graph. When marking brush piles from the graph and then asking the trolling motor to take me to the bp will the trolling motor try to position me where the graph was at the time I hit the marker? I have a 24 ft boat so trolling motor and graph are probably close to 20 ft apart?
