When I bought my boat the electronics were old and junky, and the front one didn't work at all. I bought a Raymarine Wi-Fish and a 10" Samsung tablet, and a Ram Mount for it, with a ball on the console and another at the bow. It only does down imaging, but it got me by. Transceiver is mounted on the jack plate. I bought Navionics for the tablet, so I am all in for about $300 ish. I can move the 10" tablet from the console to the bow and it works quite well. I bought a workout sleeve for my phone and I wear it on my forearm and I can see my down imaging on my phone too. Anyone who fishes with me can put the app on their phone and see what I see.
It's not optimum, but it's not bad either. If it did side imaging they'd really be onto something, but I don't think they have any intention of doing so. I have found fish with it as well as structure. For the price, it's pretty functional and kinda cool. Limited, but cool.
