I used to drag race in the 90's and when we got married in early 2000, I told her I wanted a race car or street rod... She said why don't you buy a bass boat and we can fish!! I have been excited ever since!

One of my favorite fishing jokes with some truth to it in my opinion:
There are two guys fishing, one by himself in his boat, and the other with his wife in the backseat of his boat.
The fisherman who is by himself yells out to the other, "man that's great that you're able to get your wife to go fishing with you! I wish I could get my wife out here. How do you talk yours into coming out with you?"
The man in the other boat took a second, looked back at his wife, then turned back to the other fisherman and said "how do you get yours to stay home?"

My wife goes with me quite a bit. She's never seen a brushpile on the bank that she can't drag a crankbait through.
At least I get my exercise trying to get the baits back.

I'm proud for you! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I've got mine where she'll take the bait off the noodles when we catfish =D

It's great that she's going with you and even better that you're excited she's going. Hope you both enjoy the day.

I hope you both have fun. Since my wife goes along sometimes, and plans to go more in the future, I started teaching her to back the trailer down the ramp so I can just drift and then drive on. She can pull out and park it fine; the back-up is the weakness. In loving consideration for how difficult it is for her to back down the ramp so I can load, I bought a new Suburban with all the bells/whistles including a back-up camera that's even good in low light. This will make it so much easier for her to back down the ramp without so much of this...

Mine likes to be out on the water, and will even fish a little, but just doesn't want to get up early and go. She hasn't been in the new Cat yet but she keeps saying she's going when it's warm, and we're gonna bring the granddaughter and have a blast!

It helps let the weight of the boat pull the vehicle down the ramp instead of the vehicle pushing it. My wife throws 7" Dingers and Mag Flukes most of the time and will fish hard for one bite all day. She says if I ever leave her she'll hang around the ramp and ask guys if they need her to back them in until she finds a keeper LOL

My wife goes with me often in the warm weather. She can throw the baitcaster as well as I can and she catches fish. She even gets up early so were on the lake at sunrise. I haven't taught here to back the trailer yet (she has asked), but she does drive the boat off and on the trailer--even in the wind. It is indeed special.

You let her trailer the boat off and on, but not back it in? I guess that ok, it when she does it all, by herself, that you have to worry. One day you'll come home from work, and it won't be "your turn"... It will be hers. Then you'll be stuck "fishing"'on here. Haha.
