I sold mine and moved up to a Cougar partially because I started fishing Toledo Bend and Rayburn more. One bad south wind (maybe 4 footers on Rayburn) I speared two waves coming back to Powell Park from Coleman Creek. Pretty much filled the cockpit with water. I was never in any danger, bilge pumps handled it fine but it was a 14 year old boat with the engine hours getting up in the 600 range. I decided to sell the 19 footer and move up to a 20 footer (well 20.4 I guess) with a bigger engine. Still a BassCat. Sold this Cougar after 7 years and bought another Cougar.
I like the positioning of the foot tray. Suits my style of fishing just fine!

I haven't had my current 2013 PII in gnarly waves yet, but I have driven a 2002 or 03 Pantera Classic (basically a lighter more basically-equipped PII) in horrible stuff on Lewisville and Rayburn. It will slap (or land hard) on waves when they get spaced just wrong but I have never actually speared a wave in a 19 ft cat. The nose on the 19 footers is fairly easy to keep up in most situations and they cut through 2 to 3 ft waves (from peak to bottom of trough) pretty well. It's my opinion that the 19 ft cats handle waves better than '13 Skeeter ZX200's, based on personal experience. I can't say they're the best because I haven't been in all of them in similar conditions. I can say that they do a fine job for a 19 ft boat with a competent driver.

The only issue I have with my 2013 PII is that I have to be careful refueling it or it'll overflow. I am pretty sure that it's a ventilation problem but I can't find where the constriction is coming from. Other than that, it's a wonderful boat and a lot of fun to drive.

I have a 1996 P2 Bought it used around 2000
I would love to get a new boat, but I can't justify it. It runs great and I am really hard on it. Great thing about a 19 foot boat (Basscat or otherwise) is it is easier to move around in the stumps and in shallow water. I have replaced a number of components over the years and have always been able to get what I want through their website.
Good Luck
PM me to let me know how it was!

I had an 08 P2 with a optimax 200, and loved it, if the ranger I had before the Cat hadn't ruined my back I would still have it. After low back fusion surgery I found an older Mt. Home Champion.
The P2 handles great its quick and nimble, mine would get loose about 72, but ran smooth around 68. It is light so in rough water the boat will fly on you, just need to trim it down a little and go, I would run the swales more than up on top of the waves.
overall storage is good, the cooler could be a bit larger.
A lot of people dislike the front forward trolling motor pedal, but once your used to it you love how easy flipping or roll casting is at the bow.
my only complaint about the boat was putting it on the trailer, the bunk boards will force the boat to the rollers, so you had to ease it up there.

2007. will that 19ft take rough water well? I have that same year. Good all around boat. Rough water is fine more about driving than anything. I fish alone 90% of the time. Upper 60's maybe low 70's with air temp and good water 200 Merc. The forward TM tray is easy to adjust to. PM me if you have any questions. I have fished out of and driven this boat. This boat is a blast! It has been one of my all time favorite boats since riding, fishing and driving it..It is by far my favorite BassCat compared to a Puma or Cougar..Would like to try an Eyra one day! BTW Mark we need to hit the lake again sometime! Hope all is well!

The Basscat P2s can go anywhere that you are willing to drive to. 18/19 foot Basscat P2s and Champions with 150/175/200 HP motors went up and down Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn for many years in bad conditions. It is how us old timers learned to drive. There were very few if any trailing events.

I'm selling a 2010 Panterra II that is one of the cleanest in the country and has only 185 hours. The new owner will absolute love it. It rides great and is crazy fast for a mid-size boat. They are built better than most boats on the market as far as quality of the components.

I have a 2011 P2 and love the boat and brand. The P2 is perfect for my situation. I'm in Bossier City and fish the Red River and all of the local lakes, so I don't need a 21 footer for these bodies of water. I might fish Toledo twice a year. If I were going to be on a body of water like that every weekend, I would have a 21 footer for sure. It doesn't matter what brand it is, a 19 footer is going to be a rough ride on big lakes like Toledo when it's windy.
I will never own another brand. I love the looks, styling, quality, customer service, etc. Look up close, look at the wiring, livewells, trailer quality (BCB builds their own), carpet, etc. If you do this, you will understand why BCB is a top of the line boat.

[quote=young gun 12]thanks! any down sides to them? [/quote
#1 you will like it so much that you will be spending more time fishing and less time on other stuff. #2 after a couple of years you will be looking at the 20ft Bass Cats and you will be selling yours to a buddy of yours that fishes with you.
