Was the tree still blocking the creek before you get to Wolf Pond? Lake is still 5 feet high so it may not have been a problem when you went through there.

We didn't see that tree JMoe. There were a couple other smaller ones that we had to skirt around, but for the most part it was smooth sailing. The water is still up quite a bit in the Newman's area. We were barely able to get under the bridge. I sure wish they'd open the gate though. Hopefully not too much longer

Thanks for posting HL&S. Your videos have been a great help over the years. I sure wish we could find the crappie up there... Nothing beats a mess of big Ol slabs! Hopefully things slow down for you soon so you can wet a line. We'll leave a few in the creeks for ya!

I've worked with the state park on many guided trips up Nails creek and the Yegua in years past but this year doing the guide thing is going to be tough. These trips were free to anyone that wanted to meet up at the Nails Creek Unit or Newmans when it was open.

I've made only one trip up the Yegua since the flood and the fishing was tough then..

Lake Level is 242.86. COE opened the dam up to 2015 cfs a couple of days ago but the Lake only receded less than a tenth of a foot due to the recent rain.

Coolshot went out to Irwin yesterday. The water was already out of the banks around 2 PM. He walked back toward horseshoe. When he crossed the ditch on the way in the water was ankle deep. Less than an hour later when walked back out it was thigh deep, LOL!! Shhh!! That was a secret, so don't tell anyone I told y'all. roflmao

If anyone heads out there today please post a report. I would be interested to see how long it takes before it gets back inside the banks again.

I saw a lot of water in the creek on hw 77 yesterday, it may take a few days to drop enough to be fishable again.

roflmao That's an oh [censored] moment for sure. Always good to bring an extra set of clothes along when bank fishing the Yegua. Just in case...

I had planned to make a trip out there on Sunday. Don't know if it will be fishable by then. As a back up plan, I may make a scouting trip out to Reimers Ranch on the Perdernales River. I'm really curious about the water level out there. Lake Travis is only 3.84 feet below full pool right now. It's looking like a really good year for us White Bass fisherman.

Man!! Nothing is sacred!! Thanks J-Moe Lol
Definitely put me in the HPF zone!!
Water looked high, but pretty normal color when i got there, then it quickly started having lots of debris moving.. spent enough there time to lose my limit, then started out... but it was a little late. My best guess is about an 18" rise, and that water is CCCCoooold!!

HPF = High Pucker Factor
Losing my limit = The Yegua monster confiscated my tackle hammer

Yegua monster was just punishing you for laughing at me when I slid down into the creek. roflmao

I don't know about Coolshot but I always have an extra set of clothes with me Jared. I fell out of the kayak twice, filled up my waders twice and slid into the creek in the last year roflmao
