I've only used it on a stick that was a few feet long... and didn't loose connection.. have never tried going deeper.. i just look down or at an angle ... so i would believe bass buck n beer on it loosing connection after a short distance... do get a long pole or some kind of line to lower it down and press record... id use a telescopic pole that way you can look around rather then dangle it... after you look around pull it up and watch on iPad on surface... since and repeat as you please...
