Mr. Carroll - thank you for the quality jigs and prompt shipments you have provided. Hope you get to kick back and feel the thump now.

I met Mathew soon after I joined the forum. Learning more about crappie fishing was in large part why I joined the TFF. I had the good fortune of being at the Weatherford Fishing Barge to meet Mathew in person. Later when he began making his crappie jigs I purchased some from him at the Mesquite Boat and Fishing Show.
The jigs he makes are top notch. Mathew deserves all of the accolades he is receiving. I am pleased to learn that his retirement from the jig making business will not mark the end to the quality of jigs his customers have come to expect. What a wonderful complement to be chosen by the man himself for Jerry T to carry on the name of Jigum Jigs. All indications are that Mathew has made a very wise choice.
Thank you Mr. Carroll for bringing so much class to the TFF, you will not be forgotten. Now enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Again Congrats Matthew. If you guys don't know Jerry you may be wondering why Matthew chose him. I know Jerry and it is no wonder to me. Jerry, when I go back to fishing regularly you have my business. Doesn't mean I might not buy anything else but sure will buy from you. If you're good enough for Matthew and me then everyone else should help you keep it going no questions asked!

I saw the thread, but didn't realize you were announcing your retirement till I was told about it yesterday.
Hope you get more time to go fishing now thumb
The bite here is kinda slow, but your always welcome to fish with me cheers
Looking forward to going "Jigging with Jigum" again my friend.

Although you'll be missed, from what I've seen of Jerry's work, you made the right choice on whom to pass the torch to......
Now he can deal with having to fulfill order getting in the way of TOW roflmao

I sure appreciate the support I've received from everyone and kind words in this thread.

I'm currently receiving a lot of messages and calls about the Jigum merger. For those wondering, I'm going to try to offer 100% of the products Matthew offered to any of his customers (publicly offered or not). I do plan on cutting down to 8-12 of his jigs and 8-12 of my own. I'll have to make a road trip to get the exact jig recipes from Matthew, as I no longer have the patterns he gave me a few years back. I have my versions of a few of his jigs but want to offer the Jigum line in their original manner of paints and exact chenilles.

If Matthew sold you jig heads or jigs in other styles not publicly offered, I'll be glad to do the same. I'm working on a million different things right now but will keep everyone updated on the progress. I'm hoping for - let's say - no later than February 1st, I'll have 32nd and 4th oz heads available for custom order. I also hope to have all jig heads available at that time.

My current goal is to have the website launch no later than January 15th. All of this is contingent upon replies from Gamakatsu and Owner hook companies. Basically, whoever gives me the best deal on an appropriate sized hook (#4 and #6 for me) will get my business. Additionally, I need to finish incorporating the Jigum brand into my website that was 95% built before the Jigum acquisition.... I have worked 14-18 hrs/day on this website since just after the Thanksgiving Jig Giveaway and refuse to rush the redesign. I want to make sure it's a seamless transition, adding Jigum to my brand, and keeping the history of both my family's fishing legacy and the Jigum story in tact.

I can't say thanks enough to everyone for the confidence and support. I look forward to opening the doors for business very soon and guarantee everyone it'll be worth the wait.
