What about wives that don't fish?

@ Mike Zachary - They have a non-fishing rate as well. Look it up on the Pro Bass Adventures web site. www.fishingmexico.net or call Doug King at one of the numbers found in that site. They don't have much else for anyone to do other than fish or ride in the boat. They are not an easy drive into Mazatlan.

Have been to Pro Bass Adventure lodge (Doug's) on El Salto several times. Great operation. Best guides on lake (some are anglos) and best fishing boats. Am taking my grandson along with a buddy of his and my adult son there this Saturday for grandson's 18th birthday gift so obviously think it very safe. Am hoping to get grandson a double digit (and hopefully one for me as well). Know we will have the normal over the top quantities which should get grandson "hooked for life". At least that is the plan. This is the place to do it.

On trips to El Salto, do anglers bring their rod & reel combos or just the reels? I've heard some places supply rods since they can be difficult to transport without damaging them.

I'm not sure how it is at this very moment but. I show up in Mexico with my wife and a stepchild on vacation. My wife and I had the same last name. The underage stepchild had a different last name. Her last name was her blood fathers name not the same as my wife or myself. This is what took place at the airport upon arival while passing through customs check. All the paper work was in order but. They said where is this young girls parents. I said this is her mother who is also my wife. They said the last name does not match. They said there must be a father or mother with the same last name or the underaged child can not enter Mexico. They actually took position of the child and removed her from the area taking her away. I have delt with Mexico many times so was able to work it out behind closed doors and get her back in about 30 min. If you guys are taking a underage stepchild down there get the proper paper work from the blood father and get it ok'ed at the Mexico Consultant in your town before you leave home. That ain't Texas down there Gringo or anything close to it. You better have you paper work and shzx in line before you get there where the kids are involved.

Definitely on my bucket list. Been to Guerrero, and it was nice, but El Salto is the place I dream about!!

@ krawlin 47 - As I am heading into my 8th decade, and being fairly computer illiterate, I prefer to spend more of what's left of my time on this big blue planet doing things I really love to do; like fishing, not trying to figure out how to post pictures on this site. If you would not be so snippish, and be willing to assist me with a tutorial on how to post a picture, or several, I would be more than willing to post those that I have. Until then, you will just have to use your imagination, provided you have one.

Dang, propman, you must not have had your coffee this morning. The closest some people get to seeing big fish is other people's photos.

@ furim2 - Always have the coffee in the AM and many times the PM, at least until I forget to put the cup under the boat cowling and leave it in the cup holder built into the folding middle seat back. Then when I go up on plane, I forget about it being there, it blows out, and I lose the cup. There are a few of those cups floating around or decorating the bottom of Ray Bob. I wish the lost caffeine would wake the fish up a bit more for me.
