I was backseating in a night tourney a few years ago on Lake Austin and I felt something rub against my foot. Startled me and I stepped back and right on top of about a 4 foot water snake. He didn't like that and whipped around and bit me right on the shin. I damn near tackled my partner off the front of the boat I moved so fast. He's a 6'6 former Marine who I then learned is deathly afraid of snakes. He was shrieking like a little girl and I was yelling about the damn thing biting me. It must of been a sight to behold.

He would've just won himself a boat I agree. I carry a .410 Snakecharmer in the rod box. I would have had hydraulic fluid spraying everywhere.

I was working on my "new to me" boat replacing all the pumps with my head deep in the rear compartment when I found a snake skin. I seriously debated about selling the boat because I don't do snakes.

I don't know why but these snake threads always make me laugh!! Kinda like when someone eats a hot pepper and can't handle it, it is just funny!
BTW I am not a huge snake fan myself. I prefer they stay in their territory and I stay in mine. My boat is my territory even if it is floating in his!

I would of saved tossed him in the live well and saved him so i could put him in a live well at the ramp. hahaha people hate snakes and it cracks me up.

What makes someone laugh at a grown man. A grown man screaming at a harmless snake. Yup. I've never understood the fear of snakes. If you learn which are venomous, which there are only 4 of in Texas, there's really nothing to fear.
