I sure hope so. Maybe with a little more time trying the adjustments, I'll get a better result. But, for now, I'll just have to sit here and whine about them. I really don't like the SI. Other than the map, I feel it's pretty useless. Haha.

Of course, getting me to sit and stare at them for hours while trolling around isn't gonna happen. I get on the water and start fishing. Maybe someday I'll intentionally leave the rods at the house and just boat around adjusting stuff till I can see something.

I will be running 3 Helix 10's this year on my 2016 boat, I ran the 1199s last year and loved them. From what I have been told from Humminbird and other users, the Helix 10/12 are great units.

You might consider doing a trip with Slade Dougharty. Could solve a lot of your frustrations very quickly.

Steez that's insane that you would spend that much on electronics and not learn to use them . Might as well get a flasher instead

First, make sure you're around brush, trees, tires, and fish lol. My 1199 and 999 easily depict all of the above, in fact there are lakes like Athens and Bonham I'll tell my friends about tire reefs and they have no clue what I'm talking about because they don't have their Lowrances dialed in to see these. All units have flaws, and the biggest of every unit is the user doesn't have them configured properly. Its simple and takes time, just have to do it.

You guys are probably right. I really do need to spend time learning them a lot better. I guess I like my sonar best because it's what I'm used to. grin

To say I see "nothing" is an exaggeration. I do see stuff. Just not the best accuracy is what I'm depicting. The SI really isn't that great though. I know it will be better when I get the HDSI transducer. But, I figured the one supplied should be a little more useful. In my opinion, the detail isn't there. At all. All I ever see is brown [censored] and white dots and lines. Lol

The DI does an ok job at showing brush piles and rocks and stuff, but nothing that my sonar doesn't show.

I want it to look like the demo mode!!! Haha.

Haha. So true. But, I think the kinda fishing that went down on that lake last weekend didn't require graphs, sonars, SI/DI. It only required a punch rig and 65lb braid.

I borrowed a truck from a friend and I'm going back to try it again tomorrow.
