I have a 65qt and a roadie. If I get another one it will be the 50qt. I think the 50 would be a great day cooler for drinks and food, plus it sits up a little taller than the 45 or 65. I am 6'2" and I would like the extra height when using it as a seat.

Yetti is overkill on a one day trip. 45 qt should be big enough for 4 folks.

Waste of money for a day trip!! Unless your on the coast etc and need a box just to store ice for several days. Once you open the lid, you have lost any advantage of the yeti. YEP! most people don't realize that a yeti is no better than the cheapest cooler you can buy at walmart for things like drinking beer etc...if you are going to be opening and shutting the lid often then it doesn't matter what cooler you use the ice WILL melt. However if you need meat or something to stay cold for a week and aren't going to be in and out then a good cooler is essential. Check out Coleman Xtremes. Less than $100 and rated for 5 days ice storage, so they claim.
Walmart.com has the 52 quart on sale for $26.

I good think is that u can have buy any cooler u want.so why not get one of the best.imo.Some people don't have the money to buy a great cooler.I like my 50 qt

a guy i fish with has the bag it works pretty well but my igloo after a day out fishing still has ice the bag has all melted but it still cold i just thing they are a lot of money read the engual i think that is how you spell it out performed the yeti

2 guys I work with have a Yeti and an Engel . Both say the Yeti is the clear winner. The Engel is not as durable either.

We don't use Yeti's for our fish boxes. They are too heavy for that use. But. After saying for years I would never buy one, they are by far the best coolers for the avid outdoorsman.
We like how rugged they are and how we don't have to Mickey Mouse fix latches, hinges....etc. plus, they make very stable eating....PLUS, lids don't fly off when trailerimg boat and they are heavy enough to just leave in tha boat and worry none!

Might look into getting a Yeti later to replace ol'faithful when she finally gives out. I purchased the bungee upgrade handle for it for convenient carrying and it has also decreased ice melting by 3%. Its been a great cooler for many one day trips storing bait, drinks and sandwiches all together!

Anyone used one of the Cabela's brand coolers? They at least look pretty durable.

I just went overboard and bought one for all weekend trip use. I bought a Tundra 105. I have a couple 70 qt Coleman Extreme and 48 qt Igloos for day trips. I also have a 19qt &30qt Engel dry box and a 19 & 30 qt Engel aerated live bait box. I guess should have all bases covered at this point.
