Seems like the bite really shuts down when the dam is open on Fork. In your opinion - why?

It's also drawing a current. MOST lakes the fish LOVE the current, but not Fork. For instance, fishing Texoma and they shut the gates, you have o hope and pray for 5 bites on a shakey head or a drop shot. Go figure. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

They were letting a lot of water out of Ray Roberts today. The bite was really slow.

The main reason and only logical reason is with the increased flow, the shad are a lot faster!!

I was riding with Wesley Strader during the TTBC. They were letting water out. Being from the TVA lakes where current is a everyday thing he felt it had to turn on the bite. He was fishing a offshore spot near the dam and the finder was loaded. I was sitting there thinking it does the absolute opposite on Fork. It will shut down the bite or at least make it more difficult. He never got one to bite.
Reasons I think is that the current is abnormal on Fork where on the TVA it's a very regular timed daily event. They get used to it. That and Florida Strain are as temperamental as women.
