You have to get the LTZ to get bucket seats as well

What's your mileage like in the 6.2?

No lie I'm averaging around 20 but I have a light foot, I didn't get the bucket seats, no navigation. It was the cheaper LTZ if you call it that. L.O.L.

Well if Ford had a sister truck the numbers would be a lot lower, but hey I like Ford and would buy one if GM weren't around.

I went a similar route RJE, although I bought the GMC "SLT" version. I ordered it in 2011 with the "Max Tow Package" which included: Torsion Bar Suspension, 6.2L L9H all Aluminum engine (403 HP, 417 Torque), I got the bucket seats, all Leather. Gas mileage after driving it 36K miles = 14-15 mpg around town, 18 mpg on the highway, 11+ mpg towing the boat - without the boat - it flat GOES. Fun truck to drive!!!!

Are any of you fellas old enough to remember how many liters the old Chevy 454's were? It's odd how we changed the lingo from cubic inches to liters.

Took me a while to get used to it. I can't remember ever driving a 454. I learned to drive in a 1976 F250 with a 390ci and 4 speed standard. Seemed to have the longest clutch of any vehicle made. First gear was so low, it was just about worthless. Don't recall what rear end it had. Drove a 70's model GM heavy duty that had a granny gear, too. Maybe it was common back then??? IDK.

And here's a little trivia, anybody know where you turned on your brights in a 1976 ford F250?

I still haven't figured out the change! Liters ??? (HP) Cubic inches made a lot more sense...IMO

I'm guessing it was still a foot switch at that time. I had a 72 F100 I did a full restoration on and a 71 I used for a while as a daily driver that used the foot switch.

Heck I still wish we had the foot hi/low button. I don't miss manual transmissions though, I had a 1998 K2500 with a clutch so hard it'd give you leg cramps. Same thing though, worthless granny gear and second was too high to start softly.

That "worthless granny gear" may have been worthless to you, but I found it quite nice to have in my trucks that had/have it. I use it all the time. It come in especially handy when taking off with heavy trailers, climbing step rough hills, moving things around with the gin poles and winch, and various other tasks. It even was good at the boat ramp when pulling the boat out. Those transmissions were installed before the 4x4 revolution started for the most part, and helped a lot when needing a lot of torque and trying not to spin the wheels. The transmission that stands out to me as worthless was the "three on the tree" in the late 70's and early 80's. First gear in that was like third it seemed.

Granny gear is good when you need it. None of the standards I have owned or driven used the true first gear in daily driving. Granny gear in my 2010 cummins was a waste driving empty but put 15-20k behind it and it was a nice feature.

I park my standards with the trans in 1st gear. I parked that truck against a parking stop put it in first gear and set the ebrake, then forgot to turn the truck off before i released the clutch and got out, it hoped the curb and kept going till I pushed the clutch back in... things that make you look/feel real dumb!!!!!

Ecoboost is a great motor the Toyota is way overrated . work with 4 people who jumped on the Toyota is great bandwagon only 1 still has one. The 3 now on ford ecoboost trucks. Guess the [censored] poor gas mileage was to much.

One son is on his 4th Toyota and the other went from a Hemi 2WD to a Z-71 and now to a 4x4 Eco boost. All were good trucks. The Toyota, no question about it, is built better than the Ford or the Chevy was. It rides better, runs better, and eats way more gas. The son that has the eco boost has put 70K miles on his in two years, and has had no issues. if I were buying a new gasser it would be the Toy because of the ride. If I were buying for mileage, it would be the Boost.

I think I'll just stick with my paid off Cummins.
