I agree, I didn't want the leather and all that extra stuff and I wrote GM about that, however Covert in Bastrop gave me a deal I couldn't pass up, still don't make sense to me, you should be able to get the 6.2 in any trim you want.

I don't know about the trims but it's been my experience that unless you get what's on the lot, you usually have to pay a premium. It would be worth the upgrade imo.

Looked at local Chevy 1500's and out of 112 listed, two had the 6.2L. The cheapest was $47k msrp. I can't believe how many have a 4.3l!

I special ordered a few new trucks and I didn't pay any more than I would have for a vehicle off the lot. They give you the same rebates etc. on ordered vehicles as ones on the lot.

I don't think my dad has had a vehicle that wasn't a special order. He drove crank up windows, manual locks, and rubber floors till he bought his last truck in 2004 and it still got ordered with rubber floors, but when he went to a crew cab he gave in and got electric windows and locks.

I've only ordered one and I should have walked.

Nothing. Just think I could have gotten better deals elsewhere.

If GM would sell me a crew cab WT with the 6.2 I would buy one tomorrow. Then I wouldn't have to listen to all these long debates about who's second most powerful truck can do what.

The GMC's look decent; but the Chevrolet is the ugliest square bodied thing ever built. Tahoes and Suburbans are just stupid looking now, I must not be the only one who thinks so either since you don't see many new ones running around.

Surely you can add. GM sold 602,557 and ford sold 564,451. GM has always outsold ford. Most years the only thing different is the emblem on the steering wheel.

More people voted for Obama, too. Just saying.

What do I need to add for, read the links I posted. I'd go ahead and say that there is more than just steering wheel emblem differences. GMC has always been known to cost more and be better built. They don't even look the same.

Coming from a long line of GM/Chevy owners that is a line of bull shart.

I think you're more likely to find a base model plain jane Chevy truck sitting on a lot, vs GMC. I also agree GMC trucks tend to cost a little more. I don't think they are better quality.

So anyways, where are you guys finding the sales numbers? When I google it all I find is the same link I already posted. It doesn't seem to include 3/4 & 1 tons in it.
