I have always had dual console boats and will continue to buy dual or the new option of removable second consoles. I can not think of one time having a second console cost me boating a fish and this all that matters to me. I like the look of the second console and the weather/wind protection for my partner. When it start costing me fish then I'll reconsder.

I prefer single but a dual is not a deal killer.

I like having my wife protected when she rides with me which is pretty often. So I vote dual console

I went from a 17ft single console to a Z520C dual console. I actually like the dual better. I have no problems moving between consoles. When fishing I am not moving back and forth between consoles. I know my passengers like the dual.

It's a boat...your exposed to the elements regardless...I have always had singles in my 17, 18's and now 20 footer...and when it's cold and rainey behind the consol I'm still cold and getting wet...I spend more time on the water alone than with a partner and I will guarantee that I biotch about the cold and wet just as much as when there is another person sitting in the direct cold and rain...if you can't take the outdoors stay inside ! I will alway's buy my boats with a single for more room.

All of my previous boats had dual consoles for the people who went with me. But my current boat is a single console, and I don't think I will ever go back to a double. I fish alot by myself and I love the extra room and open feel !!!!

Realistically, does your wife go with you all the time??
If so definitely get a double. If she only goes like my wife, every 10 yrs or so, I'd go with the single and when she goes just drive nice and easy for her..

The open feel of the single is great!!!

in my experience dual consoles are nice for co-anglers especially during winter and rain. But with a single console you have so much more room. Personally wont have another boat with two consoles.

My last boat was a single and my new boat is a dual. No comparison to me. I got a Z520C now so room is not an issue but whoever goes with me has a lot nicer experience. I will never have another single if anyone is going to be in the boat with me. When its cold and or raining it is not miserable to be in the passenger seat.

This is pretty much how I see it as well. Plus I like the glove compartment in that second console for my phone, keys, wallet, etc.

When I bought my boat the number one thing I insisted on was a removable passenger console. It solves all the problems and brings us closer to world peace.

Wife or Co-Angler Wants some protection - CHECK
I want more room when I'm fishing by myself - CHECK
The next guy looking at buying my boat says "I would but its a single console..." - CHECK PLEASE!!!!!

That's what I like about my Phoenix. My wife wanted the dual counsel, I wanted the single, I got the best of both , if some one with me wants the counsel I can leave it in, or take it out if they don't. Mama always wants it in.

Single for me. I fished as a co in last years Rayovac series and was in both. The advantage of having a console were outweighed by not having a console. Trying to get 7 rods and tackle situated each stop with the dual console was a hassle. On long runs at Amistad in the rain and cold I just put on my Save Phace and Pro Dry suit and hunkered down.

I have a 20ft boat with a single console, also fish in many boats other than mine. As a boater I prefer the single. Way more room for me on deck and moving around. As well, my favorite place to go retie is to sit down in the corner where the second console would be.
It is 100% less comfortable for the passenger.. but i really don't recall any of my passengers pitching in for the price of my boat now do I?

I think it's funny when non-boaters chime in on this. LOL
