I have 3 labs that go with me 90% of the time, & they have since the day & brought my new boat home. They are all over the seats. No problems with tears in the seats. Shedding & slobber is another problem, but easily fixed.

They make better fishing partners than most.

They never complain.

I had a yellow lab that never missed the opportunity to go with me. never figured out he new when I was going fishing or going to work. He started running around in the house like he was on fire. Very calm in the boat, but we started when he was 6 mos. old. Never got hooked, just made sure I stopped and let him out a few times a day. Gave him bottled water to chew on when it was hot. Kept the back deck wet. Got to be a routine switching deck and seat. As I went to the front deck he moved to the back deck. Id sit down he would go back the front deck. Lost him this year after 15 year. isn't the same fishing with out him.

Generally have my aussie with me on most fishing trips. No issues exceptin the dog hair. Next boat will not have carpet...

I got a yellow lab. Figured she would stay cooler in the summer. She loves to ride in the truck, boat, Polaris ranger, I've even got her to ride on the four wheeler with me.

Sounds like everyone has or has had some awesome dogs (partners ) that's great to see....

I have a very small dog. He rides in my pocket. Him and i are almost always together. He loves to go fishing but just don't like being cold. Or having the wind in his face. But as small as he is the wind blows him out of the boat so he just rides in my pocket. He will stay out all day long. He also likes to taste every fish.

Get a rescue always good dogs they don't want to screw up an go back to jail.

Golden retriever with hair kept short. Smartest dogs and easiest to train.

I took my 4 year old wiener dog fishing 5 years ago and she's loves to fish. She sits between my legs and watches the rod tip or topwater lures like a retriever. Best fishing companion I ever had. Only problem is she tries to bite or taste every fish as I land them, so have to keep the smaller fish off the deck, and have occasionally resulted in hooks in my hands.

I have a Jack Russell mix that I got from the Humane Society. He goes with me every chance that he gets. When I catch a fish he wants to lick the fish to death.
