I have the Helix 7 Si and Di. I got one of the two graphs they had at Bass Pro shops when they first came out. The quality and definition of the screen is amazing just on the 7 inch screen. The Helix 12 would be amazing, its on my list!!!!

I will be adding the Helix 7 on my bow and a 10 or 12 on the console. The price is too right not to for me.

I can not find the pricing on the new humminbirds. I spoke with garmin about the new 94sv. They are not capable of being linked together. (garmin help line)

Mark, I have done some reading on them . Are the picture/processor supposed to be that much better? Or is it the size of screen your getting for a stripped down unit at a great price?

Way I understood it is you are getting the new versions of the 900 and 1100 units basically. Better screen etc. My boat is due for new depthfinders and since I am not the biggest offshore nut I kinda thought these just made sense for me.

The big difference is the brightness on the new humminbirds. They are going from 1000 for 1500 nit.

Looking at the new Garmin offerings. They have the striker 7 sv for $500 but it doesn't appear to have maps on it even though it has a GPS. Kind of weird. Garmin is coming out with chirp versions of the 7x/9x with chirp.

From my understanding the " chirp" that they're putting on these units is more of a sales gimmick than anything . From the people that know , a true chirp system is thousands of dollars . I don't know though this is just from reading

The new helix screens will be wide like the 998,898, but will be brighter and sharper with better pixel resolution. The chirp is probably gonna be what they refer to as "cheap chirp". They seem to be using the same transducer hdsi 180. You may have the ability to use one of the airmar tducers which would be over a thousand dollars just for the ducer. Still a lot of unknowns about the Helix 12 chirp. They should be out in Feb. 2016

Just got my new Helix 7 di today. Not off to a good start, ordered it online from BPS and they told me the transducer would mount to the TM but I'm finding out that's not the case Good price on it and in demo mode the picture is great. But looks like it's going to be more cost to have a way to mount to TM

Donovan has the part. I believe the mount along with stainless hose clamp is 15$ or less. I'll get you a part number in the morning.
