We have (33) teams that braved the elements this morning and are battling it out on the Vine! The rain stopped right at first cast at 7:00am and it has turned out to be a nice day on the water! Weigh-in starts at 3:00pm at Katies Woods! Results will be posted later this afternoon.

Ole Youngblood remembers how to fish grapvine

BASS PRO SHOP GRAPEVINE SERIES - FALL OPEN
SATURDAY OCTOBER 31, 2016

The Bass Pro Shop Grapevine Series returned to the Vine today hosting the "Fall Open". We had (33) boats/teams that braved the elements this morning but the rain subsided by the time of first-cast at 7:00am. The recent rainfall has caused the lake to rise approximately two feet in recent days causing the bass to scatter, and the big bite proved difficult today. The majority of the field commented that they caught a lot of bass throughout the day but the over-the-slot kickers were tough to find. Mike Dreschel and Brian Fox topped the field today sacking a 13.19 limit which was anchored by their 6.44 kicker that also won overall BIG BASS honors. Dave Juarez and Jason Shaddox finished second with 9.53 pounds. Kenny Anderson and Mitch Rausch took third with 9.12 pounds which included a nice 4.27 smallmouth bass. Cole and Brian Massey secured a fourth place finish with 8.23 pounds and the second BIG BASS payout weighing 5.56 pounds. Rounding out the top-five was Jason Porter and Steve Caldwell with 7.70 pounds.

I enjoyed seeing everyone today and I thank all of you that came out to fish today. We had a lot of anglers that fished the BPS Grapevine Series for the first time and I welcome each of you! I am putting the schedule together for 2016 and hopefully will have it posted this week.

Awesome tournament a good turnout once again... You are a top notch TD! And his write up was correct... Lots of fish but big ones were tough! Looking forward to next year and glad you are back my friend!

I enjoyed it and this was my first time on Grapevine and to do a BASS PRO SHOP GRAPEVINE SERIES tourney. My new found partner David Burnham with Army Bass Anglers (which I am new to as well) and I had a few issues before even leaving our houses and on the water but we adapted and over come to make it work out. We had lot's of under's some in the slot and no over slot to be found by use but we enjoyed it and I sure look forward to a next time. I thank David for having me as a partner.
