Your Jigs look really nice Alex. I'll need to order some soon. I've never fished jigs much but I've wanted to start. I usually just use plastics. Do you also do swim jigs with the eyes? I appreciate the kind words! This winter, I'm going to try to find a photographer who will take better pictures for me. It shouldnt be too hard to get better photos. I have a swim jig mold with eye slots (1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 oz.). I haven't tried to sell them, but I'll be happy to make some for you. I also make bladed jigs and a 1 oz. Custom swimbait head with an 8/0 hook and drop shot weights. I learned how to jig fish with my own jigs. Long story short, a tournament director that is now a close friend told me after a fall tournament in 2007 that I'd better learn how to jig fish. So, I went and bought an Arky mold and started pouring and painting my own jigs. I threw them during one of the TDs trail tournaments in the Spring of 2008 and finished 2nd. I think he and I were both shocked that day. Checked out your website and love the look of those thumpers. From the photos they appear to have a pretty solid hook on them, can you confirm? Also what type of line tie? Great looking jigs also.

The 3/8 and 1/2 oz. options on the website have a 4/0 and 5/0 Gamakatsu hook, respectively; in terms of wire diameter, it's as stout as I can find. My snaps are made in the U.S. The tackle suppliers that most homemade guys use have told me it's the best duo lock snap available. The 1 oz. Lunker Thumper is not on the website, because it isn't quite available for distribution yet, has a customized 8/0 Mustad. I use a snap that is made for larger game fish and saltwater fish on it (call it overkill, but I don't want it to fail when someone hooks the fish of a lifetime and that's what it's made for). I am STILL waiting on custom skirting material for these lures. Those that have been following my post in the plugs section know that I am excited about this lure.

Check out Jig-X local here to Granbury, TX. Unique line tie that reduces hang ups. I know (not personally) but those guys will sit and put these things together by hand one at a time. Brazos River Outdoors Jig-X

What makes them the "best out there"? Someone else said that Lanier jigs were the best out there. What makes them better than others on the market. What have you used in the past that you can truly say that these are the "best"? I would really like to know because I love throwing jigs and I have been through many brands and head styles so I have a lot of experience fishing jigs.

Every jig that I have thrown catches fish; but I only have two that catches Big Bass. There are some things that I put into my jigs that will be argued by others that do not make any difference; but here is what I believe. In throwing them in Mexico where you are getting 100 bites per day there is no doubt these things catch bigger bass. - As large of an eye as possible:I have watched many big bass turn on their sides and look the pray in the eye before engulfing it. I make a jig with a 1/2 inch dome eye with a BB under the dome for the sound chamber. This fulfills two of the Bass's senses with one part. I have 3 colored Brass eyes for the loudest sound chamber possible and 5 Poly Glass colored eyes to choose from. - Living Rubber Scented Skirts:I want the strands to continue to move for as long as possible while the jig is at rest. The living rugger flairs out more and makes for a larger profile, which is important to me in deep water. The rubber will hold scent and my jig skirts get the Crayfish bath before going on a jig. All the skirts are hand tied with copper wire. Then we get into the trailers which everyone has the best. HA... I have 3 and one or the other will always produce more bites on any given day. I like the speed claw, twin tails and boxing claws. So in my book the best jig is the one that has all the senses going for it with sight, sound, smell, movement and etc.. I like taking these to an extreme level if possible. It is not important to me if a jig comes through rocks, brush piles or heavy cover with out getting hung up. I will give some of that up to have one that catches bigger bass on a regular basis.
