This technology has been around for some time now. Humminbird came out with 360 and this was Lowrance attempt to follow. No telling what Lowrance will try and mimic as the spotlight scan didn't even come close.

Humminbird has perfected it....but yes, you just never know what will come about next.


I agree the spotlight scan is not the best, but it is useful if you spend some time with it. Lowrance does have the best sonar and sidescan on the market. The new 3D looks promising. Wait and see who tries to mimic that.


At best, Lowrance Side Scan is in third place with that technology. Humminbird Side Imaging is considered best by those that actually have used most brands. Garmin Side Vu is second place.



So what is the maximum distance you think you can accurately depict an object or fish on sidescan?
