Fished with my good friend skeeter man zx225 and we caught a ton of short fish shallow and then he landed this pig of a smallmouth, it weighted 3.18 on my scale and t was about to bust it was so full of shad. Really made dealing with the high winds all day alot better. We had planned to work deep structure to target big large mouth, but with the winds today that was out of the questions. 2 trips in the new boat on ray bob, 2 fat smallies boated I'm liking how this is going might have to go back out in the morning

That smallie was a big surprise, first she hit a baby brush hog, second she was on a big tree in 8 feet of water. I have caught a smallie on a brush hog one other time, and I have caught a small mouth on a trees with a jigs. All the rest of our bites came in less than 4 foot but you can catch 50 plus bass that are less than 10 inches long in just a few hours. Had a good time fishing out of Brads new boat.

Nice job... I always liked catching them at Crooked Creek Arkansas. It was one of the worlds best before coal mining screwed up the ecosystem. It's made a nice recovery but not sure it's made it back to its glory days.

Not sure how fast smallies grow, but the ones I have seen caught in ray roberts are sure chunks compared to other lake right now, I caught 20-30 smallies on texoma last week and none of them were built like the ray roberts smallies. I would be willing to bet alot more smallies will be weighted in the next couple years. That or I just got very lucky 2 trips I a row to have smallies in the boat. I'm going to try and target smallies on monday morning on ray roberts, might end up with a big fat zero for the trip. I really think there are some schools of them just waiting to be found.
