It always makes me nervous to use a public ramp. I feel like it makes it too easy of a target for the scumbags. Glad to hear your wife and kid are safe. Her alertness probably saved her and you a lot of trouble.

My truck is a 2014 black F-150, 4 door 4x4, factory rims. The trailer is blue and has "cobra" cut out of the trailer where the fenders meet the trailer frame...I went down to the boat ramp this morning after I changed the locks on my house. There was a DPS Trooper in the parking lot. I told him what happened and let him know I was going to drive through the dirt path that runs through the woods along the lake shore adjacent to the boat ramp to see if they ditched my trailer back there. He told me to park my wife's car and walk because the road was a little rough. I start walking down the path and see where someone is camped along the lake shore. I round a bend in the path, and in the middle of the path there is a man, naked as a jay bird, sitting on a bucket doing his business. I turned around and walked back...you can't make this stuff up.

Thanks for the heads up and warning, that's a ramp I've used quite often in the past (daytime only). Seldom fish Palestine anymore but if I do me thinks I'll change ramps.

That's crazy! Thanks for the heads up. Ive been spending some time on Pal. This is good to know. They should extend the castle law to allow conceal carry on boats as well. I might start carrying on mine regardless. Ive had someone try to steal my truck earlier this year....my .45 was inside the truck and nothing sucks more than watching someone steal your (censored) when your weapon is in your truck. luckily the idiot that tried to steal mine reversed it into a ditch, got it stuck, jumped out, ran to another car down the street and took off. Cops did not respond in my case either. We flaged down a random cop 45 minutes later and told him what had happened, he was parked 100 yards down the street and never got a call from dispatch.

The castle law does include your boat.

And if I'm not mistaken, a motorcycle or anything else of that nature.

With todays technology, how can a person steal a 2014 truck? Don't you have to have the key fob on newer vehicles that allows the computer to start the engine. No fob, no start, even if hot wired?

Some of these bastages need to get shot. Maybe the others will think twice.

Lakeside has there on private ramp. I think you are safe using there ramp
